Nilo's Finale

"Nilo" is our 22 old Arabian gelding.  Nilo and I go all the way back to when I was 15.  My first lesson horse was Nilojsha, Nilo's mom.  I saw her bred to my favorite stallion at the time L Faress, and was there when Nilo was born.  When he was about 2 months old Nilojsha died from complications of colic.  He was my little orphan.  I became his mom.  I loved that horse, and we grew with each other.  When I was about 19 my job and boys became my priority and I sold him.  Many years later after I was married, I reached out to his current owner through the Arabian Registry.  I sent her baby pictures and checked in with her on how he was doing.  A couple years later she contacted me after double knee replacement and back surgery, and asked if I wanted him back.  Of course I did, we drove to AZ and got him.  When we got Dream she was very high strung, we were afraid she might even hurt her own foal.  We put Nilo next to her, they bonded right away.  After Penny was born her first day out in the arena with Dream we realized Nilo would have to be turned out with them, well he hasn't left Penny since.  They are so bonded.  She took on so much of his personality and they are an amazing pair.Nilo has the very best temperament on the farm.  He is so easy going.  He is one very sweet, kind, wonderful gelding.
